Wynn Resorts operates luxury hotel casinos in Las Vegas and Macau,
China.
The Wynn Las Vegas resort opened to the
public on April 28, 2005 and features 2,716 luxurious guest rooms
and suites; an 111,000 square foot casino; 22 restaurants; an
on-site 18-hole golf course that costs $500 per round; approximately
223,000 square feet of meeting space; an on-site Ferrari and
Maserati dealership; and approximately 76,000 square feet of
retail space. Wynn is the only casino resort ever awarded five
diamonds by AAA and five stars for two consecutive years by Mobil
Travel Guide.
Wynn Resorts opened its Macu casino in
2006, 37 miles southwest of Hong Kong. Wynn Macau features 600
hotel rooms and suites, approximately 220 table games and 380
slot machines in approximately 100,000 square feet of casino
gaming space, seven restaurants, approximately 26,000 square
feet of retail space, a spa, a salon, entertainment lounges and
meeting facilities.
Founder Steve Wynn is a legend in Las Vegas.
He was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mirage Resorts,
Incorporated and its predecessor from 1973 to 2000. In that role,
he was responsible for the development of Bellagio, The Mirage,
Treasure Island at The Mirage and the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas,
Nevada as well as the Atlantic City Golden Nugget in New Jersey
and Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi. Wynn helped design and
develop the famous dancing water fountains at the Bellagio.
Wynn is already building an expansion to
his Las Vegas resort called Encore which includes a new hotel
with 2,034 suites and should be completed by 2009. The expansion
is on 20 acres on the site of the former Desert Inn. The Encore
project is expected to cost $2.2 billion.
For 2007, total revenues were $2.68 billion
and net income was $258.1 million.
