Visteon has more than 200 technical, manufacturing, sales and service facilities located in 26 countries. The company has corporate offices in Van Buren Township, MI. (U.S.); Shanghai, China; and Kerpen, Germany. Visteon was spun off from Ford Motor Company in June 2000 and is highly reliant on Ford business which has also been hurt by poor sales. In 2007, Visteon reported net revenues of $11.3 billion and a net loss of $372 million. The company said it will close 8 plants this year and has already closed a plant in Indiana in 2007. On Feb. 1, 2008, Visteon announced the sale of its non-core North American-based aftermarket underhood and remanufacturing operations, including a manufacturing plant in Sparta, Tenn. and two facilities in Reynosa, Mexico.
