publicly-held automotive retailer based on total revenue.
As of December 31, 2007, Penske owned and
operated 170 franchises in the United States and 145 internationally.
It offers a full range of more than 40 vehicle brands, with approximately
95% of revenues (six months ended September 30, 2007) generated
from the combined sales of foreign brands and luxury brands such
as BMW, Honda, Lexus, Mercedes and Toyota.
The company also generates additional revenue
from the sale of used vehicles, repairs, fleet sales, finance
and insurance.
Former race driver and racing team owner
Roger Penske is the Chairman and CEO of Penske Auto Group. The
company changed its name in 2007 from United Auto Group.

of $12.95 billion and net income of $127.7 million.
It sold 297,374 cars in 2007 which included
195,160 new vehicles and 102,214 used ones.
