Standard Pacific is one of the nation's
11th largest homebuilder in terms of sales and has built homes
for more than 85,000 families during its 40-year history.
The company constructs homes in a wide
range of prices and sizes from under $100,000 to more than $2
million. Standard Pacific operates in some of the strongest housing
markets in the country with operations in 31 major metropolitan
areas in California, Florida, Arizona, the Carolinas, Texas,
Colorado and Nevada. Additionally, the company provides mortgage
financing and title services to homebuyers through subsidiaries
and joint ventures, Family Lending Services, Westfield Home Mortgage,
Universal Land Title of South Florida and SPH Title.
In 2005, the company built more than 11,500
homes and is targeting 13,000 homes in 2006. The company's average
home price in the fourth quarter of 2005 was $351,000, a 12%
decrease from the previous year. The average home price built
in California was $687,000.
Standard Pacific reported record revenues
of $3.99 billion in 2005 and net income of $440.9 million.
History
The name Standard Pacific was born in 1965,
when founders Arthur Svendsen and Ronald Foell started building
the company's first subdivisions in Orange County of Southern
California. Since the beginning, the Company appreciated the
importance of community and embraced the significance of its
craft.
In 1969, the company would go public on
the American Stock Exchange.
