The company serves 10.5 million homes through a variety of brands including TruGreen ChemLawn, TruGreen LandCare Terminix, American Home Shield, American Residential Services, Rescue Rooter, American Mechanical Services, ServiceMaster Clean, Merry Maids, AmeriSpec and Furniture Medic. ServiceMaster serves both residential and business customers. Core services include lawn care and landscape maintenance, termite and pest control, plumbing, heating and air conditioning maintenance and repair, appliance maintenance and repair, cleaning and furniture maintenance and home warranties. The company operates or franchises a network of more than 5,400 locations. In 2004, ServiceMaster had revenues of $3.7 billion and net income of $331.2 million. History ServiceMaster was incorporated in 1947 as Wade, Wenger & Associates. It adopted the ServiceMaster trademark in 1958. Founded as a moth-proofing company in 1929 by Marion E. Wade, a former minor league baseball player, ServiceMaster had its beginnings in Chicago where Wade worked out of his home. Wade had a strong personal faith and a desire to honor God in all he did. ServiceMaster expanded to carpet cleaning in 1952, establishing one of America's first franchise businesses. in his hardwood flooring products. Realizing that he was not
alone in his fight against termites, he founded Terminix in 1927
