Pinkberry operates a chain of over 170 frozen yogurt
stores located throughout North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East & Asia. Yogurt is offered
in three flavors: plain, coffee and green tea. However, customers
can add a variety of toppings including kiwi, pineapple, almonds,
mango, strawberry, granola, fruity pebbles, raspberry, banana,
coconut and chestnut.
Other items sold at Pinkberry incldue waffle cones, waffle cookies, fruit parfaits and Smoothies.
The chain is very popular with younger crowd.
Pinkberry first launched in 2005 and was founded by Shelly Hwang and Young Lee.
In October 2007, venture capital firm Maveron
invested $27.5 million in the company. Maveron is led by Howard
Schultz, Chairman and CEO of Starbucks.
The company is looking for franchisees with minimum net worth of $800,000 and $400,000 liquidity and the ability to develop multiple stores. The initial license fee is $45,000 per location and a royalty fee of 6% of gross sales and 2% marketing fee.
