Outbrain is the leading content discovery platform that powers personalized recommendations to content on over 100,000 publisher websites including Wall Street Journal, Reuters, NBC News and Slate. The company says it serves over 30 billion recommendations each month.
Publishers can place links at the bottom of articles and blog posts and receive money when someone clicks on links to other articles around the Internet. Publishers can also pay as little as $10 per day to post their links at the bottom of articles to generate traffic to their sites. Outbrain also launched a new service for video on the Web.
The company was founded in 2006 by CEO Yaron Galai and Ori Lahav, now the Chief Technical Officer. The company is based in New York City with offices in Israel, London, Paris, Hamburg, Amsterdam, San Francisco and Chicago.
The company raised $35 million Series E round in October 2013 led by HarbourVest Partners, with participation from new investor Vintage Partners and existing investors Carmel Ventures, Index Ventures, Gemini Israel Funds, GlenRock Israel, Rhodium, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Outbrain has raised $99 million in financing to date. Outbrain acquired content recommendation platform Surphace (formerly known as Sphere) in February 2011.
Benefits
Outbrain said it offers a competitive salary, equity in a well-funded start-up, full benefits, and a great working environment.
