Career Site

OpenTable is a leading provider of free, real-time online restaurant reservations for diners and reservation and guest management solutions for restaurants. The OpenTable network delivers the convenience of online restaurant reservations to diners and the operational benefits of a computerized reservation book to restaurants.

OpenTable has more than 20,000 restaurant customers, and, since its inception in 1998, has seated more than 200 million diners around the world. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, and the OpenTable service is available throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. OpenTable also owns and operates toptable.com, a leading restaurant reservation site in the United Kingdom.

For restaurants, OpenTable helps fill seats through the company’s online booking service. Additionally, restaurants can use the OpenTable Electronic Reservation Book to replace pen-and-paper at the host stand. This system streamlines the reservation- and table-management process and allows restaurants to build robust diner databases for superior guest recognition and targeted e-mail marketing. For restaurants that rely less heavily on reservations, we also offer OpenTable Connect, a web-based service that lets restaurants accept online reservations.

Restaurants pay a $199 monthly subscription fee to use the OpenTable hardware and software along with a charge of $1.00 per diner for each reservation made at OpenTable.com or 0.25 per diner from reservations made at the restaurant's website.

For diners, concierges and administrative professionals, the OpenTable website provides a fast, efficient way to find available tables that meet desired criteria for cuisine, price and location at a specified time. Diners can also book reservations using our mobile solutions, including apps for the most popular smartphone platforms. Reservations are free and can be made around the clock. The website is directly connected to the thousands of computerized reservation systems at OpenTable restaurants. Search results reflect actual, "real-time" availability, and reservations are immediately recorded in the restaurant’s OpenTable system.

OpenTable works with hundreds of distribution partners, including Google, Menupages, TripAdvisor, Yahoo, Yelp, Zagat as well as local guides and restaurant directories throughout North America and the United Kingdom.

In North America, OpenTable has 13,795 restaurants participating, up 27% from the previous year. Internationally, there are 6,254 restaurants, up 317%.

In 2010, the company reported revenues of $98.9 million and net income of $14.0 million.
