Non-Profit Hiring to IncreasePOSTED on March 5, 2010 NEW YORK -- About 60% of non-profit firms in New York City expect to hire new staff this year according to a survey conducted by Professionals for NonProfits, a staffing agency serving non-profit organizations in the NY metro area. The biggest demand among organizations is fundraising staff since that is where a majority of their revenue comes from. Organizations will be addressing hiring needs in 2010 in the following areas according to the survey: When asked about the impact of 2009 on their organizations and their expectations in 2010, respondents noted the following: NY organizations, on the whole, maintained salaries at pre-2009 levels and, for some specialties, increased compensation. Fundraising salaries rose by about 10% and high level finance salaries increased by about 7%.
