MBNA has grown from a small regional credit card issuer to the largest independent credit card issuer in the world. MBNA is a national bank and the leading affinity marketing company in the credit card industry with the endorsement of more than 5,000 organizations. In 2004, MBNA signed card marketing agreements with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Viajes Marsans (Spain), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Arsenal Football Club (U.K.), Starwood Hotels and Resorts (Canada), American Nurses Association of California, Charles Schwab, and many more.
