Kirkland's, Inc. was founded in 1966 and is a leading specialty retailer of home décor in the United States. Although originally focused in the Southeast, the Company has expanded beyond the region and currently operates over 347 stores in 37 states.

Kirkland's stores present a broad selection of distinctive merchandise, including framed art, mirrors, candles, lamps, picture frames, accent rugs, garden accessories and artificial floral products. The stores also offer an extensive assortment gifts, as well as seasonal merchandise.

During fiscal 2007, the Company expects to open 40 new stores and close approximately 40 stores with all openings in off-mall locations and nearly all of the closings in expiring mall locations, many of which will be replaced by off-mall stores.

In fiscal 2006, Kirkland's reported revenues of $446.8 million and net loss of $140 million.

History

Kirkland's Home was co-founded in 1966 by Chairman Emeritus, Carl Kirkland. The first store opened in Jackson, TN, and the company has grown steadily since. The company went public in 2002.
