History
The first Joe's Crab Shack opened in Houston in 1991. The chain had grown to three locations in Houston and one in Dallas by 1995.
The restaurants were sold to JH Whitney & Co. in 2006 operating as JCS Holdings.
JCS changed its name to Ignite Restaurant Group in 2009.
Ignite Restaurant Group went public on the Nasdaq Stock Market in May 2012.
