JetBlue to Sell Tickets on Travel Sites

NEW YORK - JetBlue Airways announced this week it would begin selling tickets for the first time on three of the Internet's largest-tavel sites: Orbitz, Travelocity and Priceline.com.

JetBlue had resisted selling tickets on travel sites since it would have to pay additional commissions but it is now looking to expand its audience and sales.

Priceline.com said it had a multi-year distribution partnership with JetBlue. Under the partnership agreement, priceline.com will have full access to all of JetBlue's published fares, schedules and inventory. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"Priceline.com welcomes JetBlue, which is participating in priceline.com's published-price airline ticketing service for the first time," said Mark Koehler, priceline.com's Senior Vice President, Air. "JetBlue has a great product that resonates well with price-conscious travelers. We believe this will be a good fit with priceline.com's position in the marketplace of helping consumers find ways to save money in their travel planning."

"Priceline.com customers are known for their appetite for superior quality travel products at affordable prices," said Brett Cochran, Manager of Distribution and Sales Development for JetBlue Airways. "We are excited to introduce priceline.com customers to the JetBlue Experience, complete with everyday low fares, complimentary name brand snacks and free satellite TV at every seat."

JetBlue will distribute its airfares, effective immediately, through its Orbitz (www.orbitz.com), CheapTickets (www.cheaptickets.com) and Orbitz for Business (www.orbitzforbusiness.com) brands. Airfare will be made fully available for air-only retail bookings and customized travel packages (flight + hotel).

"JetBlue Airways is one of the most innovative, exciting brands in air travel, and our customers will eagerly book this inventory through our Orbitz, CheapTickets and Orbitz for Business brands," said Sam Fulton, Vice President and General Manager, Transportation, Orbitz Worldwide, Inc. "By offering JetBlue flights, Orbitz Worldwide continues to work to offer more low cost airline choices for our customers."

JetBlue serves 53 cities with up to 550 daily flights. New service to St. Maarten and Puerto Plata begins in January 2008. With JetBlue, all seats are assigned, all travel is ticketless, all fares are one-way, and an overnight stay is never required.
