EOG Resources, Inc. is one of the largest
independent (non-integrated) oil and natural gas companies in
the United States with proved reserves in the United States,
Canada, offshore Trinidad and the United Kingdom North Sea.
As of December 31, 2006, total company
reserves were approximately 6.8 trillion cubic feet equivalent
(Tcfe), an increase of 607 billion cubic feet equivalent (Bcfe),
or 10 percent higher than year-end 2005.
Approximately 60 percent of EOG's reserves
on a natural gas equivalent basis were located in the United
States, 20 percent in Canada, 20 percent in Trinidad and less
than 1 percent in the United Kingdom North Sea. At year-end 2006,
EOG had approximately 1,500 employees.
In 2006, EOG reported revenues of $3.9
billion and net income of $1.29 billion.
History
In 1999, EOG Resources, Inc. (EOG), formerly
Enron Oil & Gas Company, adopted a new name and declared
its independence from Enron Corp.
