Cornell is one of the top universities
in the country and located in rural Ithaca, NY, one hour southwest
of Syracuse.
Founded in 1865 by Ezra Cornell and Andrew
Dickson White, Cornell is a member of the prestigious Ivy League.
It is a unique university featuring a blend of four private and
three public-supported colleges. As New York's land-grant university,
Cornell has state supported undergraduate schools in: Agriculture
& Life Sciences, Human Economics, Industrial & Labor
Relations. The four private colleges are: Architecture &
Planning, Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Hotel Management.
The Ithaca campus is made up of 260 buildings
on 745 acres.
Tuition at Cornell's private colleges for
2007 is $34,781 per year. At the publicly-supported colleges,
tuition is $19,291 per year for NY state residents and $33,681
for out-of-state-residents.
Cornell also has graduate schools in business,
law and veterinary medicine in Ithaca. The Weill Cornell Graduate
School of Medicine is located in New York City and Doha, Qatar.
For 2006-07, the number of employees at

also includes the medical school in NY and Qatar. There were
