Constellation Beers & Spirits imports

of the largest producers and marketers of distilled spirits in

Corona Extra and Corona Light, Modelo Especial, Tsingtao, St.
Pauli Girl, Black Velvet, Fleischmann's and Chi-Chi's.
Selling nearly 90 million cases annually,
Constellation Wines is a division of Constellation Brands and
is the world's largest wine business, operates the leading independent
drinks wholesaler and a cider business in the United Kingdom,
and produces bulk wine and other related products.
The company has 43 facilities located in
North America, Chile, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New
Zealand.
In fiscal 2005, Constellation Brands reported
revenues of $4.6 billion, up 13% from the previous year, and
net income of $325.3 million.
History
The company was first founded in 1945 by
Marvin Sands as Canandaigua Industries Company. There were eight
employees, and their goal was to sell bulk wine to bottlers in
the East.
The Wild Irish Rose brand was launched
in 1954.
After several acquisitions, the company
became Canandaigua Wine Company in 1972 and went public in 1973.
The company would become Constellation
Brands in 2000 following several more acquisitions in the liquor
and wine industry.
