In 2006, Conseco reported revenues of $4.46 billion and net income of $96.5 million. History 1979 - The company is incorporated as Security National of Indiana Corp. (SNI). The primary activity of the company until 1982 is raising capital. Its offices are located in Carmel, IN. 1982 - The company begins insurance operations by acquiring Executive Income Life Insurance Co. (which was later renamed Security National Life Insurance Co.--SNL). 1983 - The company acquires Consolidated National Life Insurance Co. (CNL) and combines its operations with those of SNL. 1984 - SNI changes its name to Conseco, Inc 1985 - Conseco acquires Lincoln American Life Insurance Co. (LAL). 1986 - Conseco acquires Bankers National Life Insurance Co. (BNL) and stock begins trading on the NYSE. Conseco filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2002 and emerged in 2003.
