CareerBuilder.com powers the online job search centers for more than 9,000 sites, including 140 newspapers, America Online and MSN. More than 300,000 employers post over 1 million jobs per month on the site, which receives about 23 million visitors each month. The company has headquarters in Chicago with technology center in Norcross, GA. History The company was first founded as NetStart Inc. in 1995. In 1998, NetStart is renamed CareerBuilder Inc. and CareerBuilder.com is launched with 16 media partners. CareerBuilder would complete an IPO in 1999. By 2000, the company joins forces with media giants Tribune and Knight Ridder, merging with CareerPath, to form one of the largest career networks on the Web. In 2001, through a partnership with Tribune and Knight Ridder, CareerBuilder.com becomes the exclusive print recruitment service provider for major metropolitan newspapers throughout the United States and provides jobs and career resources for over 35 of the country's online local news and information sites. The company would acquire Headhunter.net. On October 2, 2002, Gannett Co. joins forces with Knight Ridder and Tribune Company as equal partners of CareerBuilder.com.
