Bob Evans Farms, Inc. owns and operates 564 full-service, family restaurants in 19 states primarily in the Midwest, mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the United States.
Bob Evans restaurants serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in a country-style setting and oak decor. Most traditional Bob Evans Restaurants range in size from approximately 3,600 to 6,500 square feet and average approximately 5,000 square feet, while larger Bob Evans Restaurants & General Stores are approximately 9,800 square feet.
Bob Evans Farms distributes a wide variety of refrigerated and frozen foods in the U.S. and Canada. The Bob Evans brand is a category leader in sausage, refrigerated mashed potatoes and side dishes, and frozen breakfast.
Bob Evans Farms, Inc. has four food production facilities. Two plants produce fresh sausage products and are located in Hillsdale, MI, and Xenia, OH. A Sulphur Springs, TX, plant produces ready-to-eat products, such as sandwiches, soups and gravies, and the Lima, OH, plant produces refrigerated dinner sides.
The company moved to a new corporate campus in New Albany, OH in 2013.

The nearly 1,000-acre Bob Evans Farm, in Rio Grande, Ohio, is a tourist destination featuring the first Bob Evans Restaurant; the company’s Homestead Museum, a home on the National Register of Historic Places where Bob and his wife, Jewell, raised their six children; a log cabin village; and several special events throughout the year including the October Bob Evans Farm Festival.
The company reported revenues of $1.328 billion, down slightly from the year before. Net income was $33.6 million.
Average per-guest checks for fiscal 2014 for breakfast, lunch and dinner were $8.83, $9.41 and $9.48, respectively, for an average of $9.23. Breakfast, lunch and dinner each comprise approximately one third of total dine-in sales.
The company announced it will close 20 restaurants, most by May 2015.
History
In 1948, company-founder Bob Evans made
sausage at his southeastern Ohio farm for the 12-stool, 24-hour
restaurant he owned in Gallipolis, OH.

In 1953, a group of Bob Evans' friends and family recognized
the growing demand for his sausage, became business partners
and founded the company.

Bob Evans Farms became a publicly held company June 6, 1963.
Reincorporated in Delaware in 1985, the company's headquarters
is located in Columbus, OH.
Mimi's Café, acquired in 2004, offers
a wide selection of freshly prepared, high-quality American comfort
foods in an upbeat and sophisticated atmosphere reminiscent of
New Orleans cafés and European bistros.
Bob Evans passed away in 2007.
Mimi’s Café was sold by Bob Evans to LeDuff American for $50 million in February 2013. Mimi's Café had 145 restaurants that feature American comfort foods, such as the signature "Famous" Chicken Pot Pie and Pot Roast.
